55+ COMMUNITY-MYRTLE TRACE


 

 

 

Myrtle Trace community has 518 homes where the community was carved out of pine forest, and the many tall pines still standing throughout the community are just part of the beauty and serenity of Myrtle Trace.  The tall pines are complemented by fifteen small lakes scattered throughout the community.  Over 40% of the homes are situated on a lake and many others back up to either Burning Ridge Golf Course or wooded areas.  Turtles, ducks, fish, rabbits, squirrels, and many varieties of birds are among the wildlife that residents enjoy while walking and biking in the community.

The community was developed by Hall Development, now known as Sterling Homes.  Built in eight sections, the last section Phase VIII ( Lakeview Section) completed in 2005.  The homes in Phases 1 through VII have cedar siding, some have brick facade on the front.  Phase VIII ( Lakeview Section) with 114 homes have vinyl siding in place of cedar.

Medical- Within 1/2 mile, is the Conway Medical Center, which has a well-equipped health and fitness center.  there are many surrounding medical offices.

Shopping - Within 1 mile - there is Wal-Mart, a smaller shopping center, banks, restuarants, and other conveniences, two large shopping centers and an outlet mall are within 3 miles.  Coastal Grand Mall is only approx 7 miles away.

Education - Coastal Carolina University (CCU) and Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) are three miles from Myrtle Trace.  Many Myrtle Trace residents volunteer their time in support of CCU athletics, take classes at the schools, and enjoy the excellent cultural programs.

Recreation - For social activities and recreation at Myrtle Trace, the community has a clubhouse with a fully equipped kitchen, and a lending library.  There is an outside community pool, horsehoe pits, and shuffleboard.  In additional to the recreational and social activities provided by the Activities Committees, there are many groups that play a variety of games at the clubhouse.
